NHS Orthodontic Treatment

To be eligible for NHS orthodontic treatment, your teeth need to be deemed “severe” enough to receive funding for the treatment. All orthodontists in the UK use an Index (Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need) which categorises your teeth into a ‘number’ to see whether you are eligible for treatment. This number allows healthcare providers to prioritise people who have a need for orthodontic treatment. Please see the flowchart below to see if you may be eligible for orthodontic treatment.
