Sometimes your teeth are not deemed “severe” enough to receive treatment on the National Health Service, if this is the case there are a few options you can consider:
• Accept the position of your teeth
• Review your teeth in 12 months to assess whether the position has changed
• Independently fund the treatment yourself
Alternatively, some patients do not wish to have the stainless-steel fixed appliances and opt for a more discrete method to align their teeth such as Invisalign or ceramic (tooth-coloured) appliances, these braces can only be provided if you are paying for the treatment yourself as they are not available on the NHS.
